Your new favorite 10-second mood-booster!

I'm just back from a trip to Munich, Germany (NFL in Europe-- highly recommend!) where it was pointed out to me many times by Germans how expressive Americans are.

I don't know that I'd noticed before, but I was glad they said something, because many of us expressive Americans had been misinterpreting the facial expressions of many Germans as lacking emotion or maybe even appearing annoyed, when that (I hope?!) wasn't actually the case.

Has anyone ever misinterpreted your listening facial expression as annoyed? Judgy? Maybe even (gasp!) angry?

Or maybe your facial expression is just fine, but you know deep down your mood and energy in a conversation or presentation is just not where you want it to be?

You're not alone. And neither am I.

Listen, I'm not saying you have RBF (Google it.) and I'm not saying I have RBF...

I'm just saying IF you, or I, or your friend who always appears to have just sucked on a lemon could use a little mood-boost every now and then... this will help.

Read (ahem... and watch) on...

If you've been around a minute then you've heard me talk about "Penergy" before, but it never hurts to get a little reminder. Especially one that can have such a profound positive effect on your mood... and potentially your RBF 😉

So next time you find yourself heading into a conversation or conference room feeling (and potentially expressing) a snoodge of a mood-boost-need... bite a pen and see if that helps. I think it will.

See you next month for another tip to help you hear and be heard, but let’s not be strangers between now and then, k?

Here are some ways to connect (and get lots of free content) between now and then:

And of course you know I’d always love to work with you and your people if you’re ever looking for a keynote speaker or corporate training. Just let me know the details here:

Thanks for being here and thanks for working at getting on the same page with the people in your life. We're all in this together!
